ABOUT FRIDA
FRIDA HAUKSDOTTIR
Frida is originally from Iceland and has made the U.S. her home for many years. The name Nordic Family Health reflects both her roots and her values: in Nordic culture, family is at the heart of everything, and caring for health has been Frida’s lifelong purpose.
Frida began her studies at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London, where she trained as an osteopath. She later became an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a birth doula, expanding her ability to support families from pregnancy through postpartum.

With a background in European Osteopathy, Frida brings a diverse and holistic approach to bodywork. She integrates a variety of manual therapy techniques—such as joint mobilization, visceral mobilization, myofascial release, and neuromuscular techniques—to create effective, individualized care. No session follows a recipe; instead, she tailors each treatment to meet the unique needs of every client. Her goal is always to empower people to take an active role in their healing so they can return to living fully without limitations.

As a Lactation Consultant, Frida offers compassionate, nonjudgmental support for all feeding journeys—whether breastfeeding, pumping, combination feeding, or formula. She recognizes that feeding choices are deeply personal and can influence both family dynamics and mental health. Her mission is to ensure parents feel heard, respected, and confident in their choices.

Through her doula training and childbirth education, Frida provides a continuum of care that bridges pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. By offering bodywork, lactation services, and childbirth education together, she is able to support families in a truly comprehensive way.
Beyond her professional life, Frida is married and the proud mother of two wonderful teenagers.
